Announcement – Orthopaedic Surgical Program at the Hinton Healthcare Centre has been expanded!

Announcement – Orthopaedic Surgical Program at the Hinton Healthcare Centre has been expanded!

June 1 2018

After several years of successful fundraising, Hinton Healthcare Foundation board members are excited to announce that the surgical equipment required to expand the scope of orthopaedic surgeries has been purchased. The new equipment will include a mini c-arm that was acquired through funds generated by a number of community events and activities. Your generous support has ensured that residents have access to a larger variety of Orthopaedic surgical procedures – without travel out of town.

This newly purchased equipment has allowed further addition of two Visiting Orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. M. Kopka and Dr. M. Heard to practice in Hinton. They are joining Dr. R. Chaudhary, our current visiting orthopaedic surgeon and Dr. K. Ravji, Podiatric Surgeon. All four (4) physicians will have office hours in Hinton and will be providing Orthopaedic surgeries as part of the services offered to their patients.

People Helping People

“People Helping People”

“It’s remarkable to see communities and local residents pull together and make these types of services available and accessible. It’s really people helping people – community members donate to the Foundation for hospital equipment and, in some cases, those same members end up benefiting from the equipment they contributed to buying.”

“We would like to thank all of our supporters for making a difference in the lives of families in our community.”

Palliative Care Versacare Bed

Palliative Care Versacare Bed

June 25 2014

Our Palliative Care Centre at the Hinton Healthcare Centre is proud to offer patients a Versacare bed.

Repositioning of patients has never been easier, which in turn will diminish the number of back pain injuries that our nurses and care givers tend to suffer from. Our Versacare bed offers state-of-the-art technology enabling high-quality care for patients through patient safety, mobilization, and skin care.

We look forward to buying more Versacare beds for our Palliative Care Centre. The comfort of both our patients and staff is very important to us.
