Hinton Healthcare Who’s Who – Alana Larson, RN
This week we are showcasing Alana Larson, one of our registered nurses here in Hinton.
Alana is experienced in the Operating Room and also works in the Medical Surgical Unit – critical roles in for supporting surgical procedures in Hinton.
Having worked in Hinton for 19 years, Alana thinks that there is something unique about working in a small town; “You are able to care for people in your home town. Caring for my grandparents friends, my parents friends, people I know from the community and people I don’t know. It’s a special career in a small town.”
The same closeness and community that Alana sees at work is also what makes Hinton feel like home, “the people, you walk down the streets and we all seem to be connected, in some small way at some point in time”.
Alana wanted to be a nurse or a teacher when she grew up, and we are so grateful that she worked hard to make that dream a reality, and that she chose to practice in Hinton.
Alana’s favourite activities are curling, golfing and sewing. You won’t find her watching scary movies or going on thrill rides, Alana prefers the peace of Wildhorse Lake, her favourite hidden gem. “This is my most favourite place to be. It’s so peaceful and beautiful.”
Alana, we thank you for your years of dedicated work in healthcare in Hinton and are so happy that you were willing to share a piece of your story with the community.
