Additional New Physican Joins Hinton Medical Team
Hinton, AB – June 17, 2025 – The Hinton Healthcare Foundation (HHF) is pleased to share more good news on local healthcare access: a second new physician has been successfully recruited to practice in Hinton, with a potential start by the end of the year. The physician will provide both family medicine and emergency care services—helping to strengthen primary care and hospital capacity in the community.
This latest recruitment builds on the continued efforts of the Attraction and Retention Committee of Hinton (ARCH), local medical staff, Alberta Health Services, RhPAP, the Town of Hinton, and the HHF. Together, these partners are working to address rural healthcare challenges through sustained, community-led solutions.
“This is another important step in our long-term commitment to healthcare in Hinton,” said Fiona Murray-Galbraith, ARCH Chair and HHF Board Member. “We’re proud to welcome another physician to the community, and we remain focused on creating a supportive and connected environment for healthcare professionals.”
In 2025, inquiries, interviews, and site visits with interested physicians have increased as marketing and promotion activities have grown through efforts by ARCH and the Town of Hinton. Though not every connection or interaction results in a new hire, they do positively raise the profile of Hinton within the medical field and let physicians and other healthcare providers know that the community is a welcoming and connected place to practice medicine.
The HHF is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing availability and access to healthcare services in Hinton. To learn more or make a donation, visit www.hintonhealthcare.ca.
