Cost: $30 minimum donation for adults, $15 minimum donation for children 11 and under

Tour de Cure is a cycling event to be held in the beauty of the foothills on the Brule Road. We seek to raise funds, promote the Hinton Healthcare Foundation and the Hinton Community Cancer Centre, encourage health and wellness through exercise and education, and honor the memory of Dr Peggy Allan.

Registration: Participants can register in person at the Hinton Hospital Administration Office (downstairs), or online.

Course: Terrain is rolling with mild and moderate elevation gains until Solomon Hill, which is challenging in both directions and will be marked with caution signage. Riders will have the option of turning back to the start before the hill. Children 11 and under will be required to turn back at the hill and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The road surface is paved and in good condition. Cyclists should train for the distance they choose to ride and be prepared for light traffic on the route. Please be courteous to drivers on the road as the road will still be open to public traffic. There will be water stations/ rest stops in Brule and at the David Thompson viewpoint.

The Day of: The course is located on the Brule Road approximately 10 minutes from Hinton on Highway 40 North. The Start/Finish area will be located at the farthest entrance to Mountainview Estates and will be well marked with signage. There will be a limited amount of parking so please consider carpooling. Overflow parking will be located at the Hinton Entrance Airport across Highway 40. Please use extreme caution at the intersection of Highway 40 and the Brule Road as it is a blind corner. Check in time will be from 11:30-12:30 at the Start/Finish Area.

Safety: HELMETS ARE MANDATORY. All participants must have cycling skills and knowledge of traffic rules so that they are prepared to share the road with light local traffic. Please follow the instructions of our volunteers identifiable by event shirts. Roadside assistance for riders requiring help will be provided.

  • cash for gear and kitchen party

Drink stations will be located at the Start/Finish area, at the David Thompson viewpoint and in Brule. Water bottles can be refilled and light snacks will be available. First Aid, Porta Potties and mechanical assistance will also be available at aid stations and are sponsored and staffed by the Hinton Medical Clinic.

Kitchen Party: Please join us at the Hinton Entrance Airstrip for our Newfie Kitchen Party, open to all cyclists, as well as to those who wish to come only for the party. There will be entertainment, displays and food to purchase. Bring cash as draw prize tickets and customized bike jerseys will be available for purchase. Helicopter rides may be available, weather permitting!
